This is a complete musical program for grades four through six, their teachers, and orchestra.  It includes a series of three lessons, a concert, and a follow-up exercise.  The three lessons are taught in the classroom, two by the students’  classroom teacher, and one by their general music teacher.  The optional homework can be completed in 15-20 minutes.  The concert experience takes place in the concert hall, with the orchestra, conductor, and narrator.  The lessons are designed to help students gain a better understanding of how music works, provide vocabulary words that allow them to more easily understand and communicate musical elements and concepts more accurately, and to create a memorable experience that will encourage students to make orchestra music a part of their lives.

The CONVERSATION BETWEEN FRIENDS package of materials includes everything you will need to create a peak educational experience, including:

1.  Guide Books for Students, Teachers, and the Conductor

2.  Demonstration Music (all music for the orchestra and conductor)

3.  Lesson Plans

4.  Program Suggestions

5.  Script

CBF is flexible with the ability to mix and match repertoire and activities to suit the individual differences between groups.  A script is provided that leads students through the demonstration of musical “conversations” and can be read by the conductor or a narrator, OR one of the kids.  Script cues are included in the score and ALL player parts for the music.  Also included are many ideas for the presentation of soloists, duos, and the use of the stage.
